How to use your down time wisely:
– Check out attractions in Tannersville. Below are links to Escape Brooklyn’s posts on Deer Mountain Inn and Scribner’s Lodge. Scroll down for more discussion of the surrounding area and things to do.
Of course, there’s plenty to eat and drink in both of the above inns, and if you just want to relax at the bar, either place is a perfect hangout.
– Head over to Phoenicia! Notice that there’s a lot for the nature-lover, including several well-loved hikes. There’s also pizza!
– Woodstock is about 40 minutes away by car. Great shopping and several good eateries.
– If you’re out that way, head over to Saugerties and see Opus 40, an outdoor sculpture park. It’s about 10 minutes by car from Woodstock.
